After a successful decade, the epic Boomer’s Legacy BC Bike Ride from 19 Wing Comox to Victoria has been replaced by an exciting single day event! Introducing Camp Boomer! The new format will enable everyone to participate in this worthwhile charity under the Canadian Forces Support Our Troops program. Camp Boomer will take place on Saturday, 16 June at Glacier Gardens Arena at 19 Wing Comox. Based on a military theme, participants will have six hours to walk, run or cycle two mapped routes. Entry into the event will entail a registration fee to cover expenses, as well as a minimum pledge amount. In an effort to Help Our Soldiers Help Others at Home and Abroad, the organizing committee is well into the planning stages for this new undertaking. With the support of local military units, this event promises to be a day of physical effort, remembrance of the fallen, and of course, raising money for our troops to contribute to humanitarian efforts wherever they serve. If you want to contribute to this exciting new fundraising opportunity, contact Bobbi at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
