Welcome to Camp Boomer 2018! We are a day away from this new fundraiser for Boomer’s Legacy!

Parking will be located in the gravel lot beside the Glacier Gardens Arena. All participants must pick up their registration packages between 8:30 and 9:30 am on Saturday morning. That package will include your official Boomer’s t-shirt, as well as some goodies and more information on the day. The wrist band that you will be given will allow access to all the Camp Boomer activities for the day.

Registered participants will be issued two soldier cards to carry throughout the day. This has been a tradition that started with the bike ride and we are continuing this small act of remembrance with Camp Boomer.

Opening ceremonies will start at 9:45 with some words of encouragement from Capt (ret’d) Trevor Greene and the 19 Wing Comox Command Team. The walk/ run/ bike starts at 10:00 am.

Several military displays and demonstrations will be available throughout the day – in and around the Camp. Take it all in during a rest period from walk/ run/ bike – and have your family soak up the experience!

Note that large beverage containers to fill reusable water bottles will be on site.

For lunch, 19 Wing Foods will be offering a lunch for $10 from their mobile canteen and the Vancouver Island Compassion Dogs are also serving a salmon lunch, with support from Marine Harvest, for $10 as a fundraiser for their organization.

We will also have Boomer’s Legacy t-shirts and surplus bike jerseys and jackets for sale. Bring cash!

The walk/ run/ bike will wrap up just before 4:00 pm; participants will assemble behind the Comox Valley Pipes and Drums for the closing ceremonies.

We encourage everyone to stay around for this 15 minute conclusion to a your Camp Boomer adventure where door prizes will be given out and a short remembrance ceremony will take place.

Finally, if you do not want to go home to cook supper, 888 Wing is hosting a Beer and Burger dinner across the road for $10. The proceeds from this event will be donated to Boomer’s Legacy – and the food has been donated by Thrifty Foods (Crown Isle). You can invite your friends and family – and the venue does allow minors.
